In mid 2014 I had planned to sail CV to Tasmania in 2015 for the Hobart Wooden Boat Festival however these plans were thwarted when I "touched" one of the Port of Melbourne channel marks during a Classic Yacht Association of Australia (CYAA) race in June 2014. The only way I could assess the damage to the sail and rigging was to have CV hauled out on to the yard. This exercise coincided with a request from CV's insurer's for a 5 year inspection. The inspection  revealed some cracked ribs in the stern section of CV.

CV's cockpit was in a bit of a mess ad and I was not comfortable in taking CV across Bass Strait in that condition so I employed the service of a reputable shipwright to fix the frames and build a new cockpit.
